This is sit back and relax music. Keep it out of the gym, out of the bar, away from the club. These songs imply more introspection. Plug in and tune out:
1) Moby - One of These Mornings: I’m by no means the biggest Moby fan out there. Regardless, he’s put out a few songs that catch a mood like only the rarest artist can. This is one of the more relaxing sounds I’ve ever heard. It isn’t hip-hop in any sense, but it fits best on this list and it’s a good palate clearer.
2) Lupe Fiasco - Daydreamin: Wow. This man absolutely attacked the scene with his first release. I’m not sure he hit his potential with it, but Food and Liquor was a rare album, and this song is manifest of that.
3) Atmosphere - Me: One of my favorite songs. Ever.
4) Papoose - You Made Your Choice: Go out of your way to find this song. Way out of your way, if need be.
5) Blue Scholars - 50K Deep: I believe Bobby Digital is breaking down the Scholars in another post, so I’ll let the song speak for itself.
6) Nas - Doo Rags: You’d think he might have more songs with this feel, but there are really only 3 or 4 Nas songs I’d put in this category. This is my favorite.
7) Andre 3000 - Dracula’s Wedding: Effortlessly intelligent. An odd song, an odd artist, an odd album, great results.
8) Anthony Hamilton - Ain’t Nobody Worryin’: Again, not a hip-hop track, but I just don’t listen to enough R&B to section that genre out by itself. Sliding this onto this list really isn’t a stretch, and Hamilton is a heck of an artist. (On a side note, I know two different people who have met Mr. Hamilton on seperate occasions, and both said that he’s long on intelligence, words and kindness, so pick up his album of the same title if you like this track.)
9) Jedi Mind Tricks - When All Light Dies: Vinny Paz doesn’t necessarily make any songs that are that relaxing, but I didn’t say this was strawberry margarita, beach vacation list.
10) AZ - The Format: How is this guy not more popular? It’s just one of those questions that will never have a fitting answer. The tempo is quicker than the rest of the songs on this list, but he’s just so silky that I usually leave him for these types of playlists.
There are so many songs I had to leave off of here, aka, there will be a part deux. Thanks for reading.

P.S. Bobby has graciously built this playlist in imeem.

Good ol Doo Rags…there was no better way to “take it easy” than riding down high street in the G20 with sound waves and hydro seeping out the windows.
Your taste in music is on point. Day Dreaming is that shit and, while any song from AZ is fitting, I like the non-obvious choice. Looking forward to part deux.

With your permission sir, I’d like to supply the accompanying R&B list. In sake of disclosure, you can expect Saadiq and D’angelo to be prominent players.
